The odds of getting hired when you have a referral are increases dramatically even if there are another 200 to 500 job applicants looking for the same position. Even if you don't know anyone from the organization that could write you a referral, it is a very good idea to go to the alumni network of your university, trade groups, social networks, and professional associations.
Remember, getting a referral dramatically increases your chances of finding the ideal job.
