Tech Blog: Making A Major Impact On Business

by Ben Pate

Around the dawn of the new millennium, a new idea arose; using the internet as a personal journal. Millions of people flocked to start blogs about sports, work, cooking and home life. To a select few these types of blogs, were a little mundane. Some they decided to start a technology blog. A tech blog keeps the world up to date with tech news and which products are vast improvements over old designs, and which products are just repackaged junk.

With all the technological advances in today's electronics market, it makes sense to seek the advice of a knowledgeable source before spending big bucks on new technical toys. One of the webs newest resources is tech blogs, written by the people who would seem to know the most about these newer electronic devices. These tech blogs are reviews on the latest in electronics written by geeks and nerds, giving us the best insight on the latest and greatest little gadgets. Who would be better suited to give advice than the people who spend the most time working with them for professional or personal reasons.

Although from humble beginnings as loners who preferred the consistency of machines to the flaws of others, geeks have come a long ways from being picked on by bullies. Now geeks may be telling the bullies what kinds of Digital Camera would best be used to capture their child own conquests, or the best cell phone with internet capabilities, or how to set up a wireless network.

Some of the blogs are, "by geeks, for geeks", such as the more hardcore gaming sites, most non gamers would cringe over buying a $5000 computer built for gaming. Also geeks seem to have a intimate knowledge of everything from virtual assistants, to fax/scanners/printers. They can quickly help you get rid of viruses in your machine, plus all that nasty spy ware and ad ware.

Considering how reliant every man, woman and child is on technology, perhaps the question should be why there are not more geeks. No one thinks twice about automatic garage doors, wireless telephones, and portable devices that remain connected. It is also not unusual for one to automatically have the coffee ready, or to lower the thermostat and brighten the house from the cellular telephone during the commute. Further, the coffee shops on every corner not only provide a favorite caffeine loaded beverage, but an internet fix as well.

The advent of the tech blog is now letting many introverted geniuses voice their thoughts to the rest of the world. People who appear to be shy or withdrawn often transform into brilliant, creative masterminds when they type their thoughts on the Internet rather than share them verbally face-to-face with another person. Many people look to these blogs for advice and guidance before they will buy anything or do business with any company.
